I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Scribd Inc. (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2017
Interview
The process was fast. Had a nice conversation with the recruiter who then scheduled a phone interview. That went well and I got a sense that despite the warnings on this site that the company culture and morale is quite high which was confirmed later. On the day of the interview it was a packed 4 hour session plus lunch. Everyone was nice. The questions were pretty hard and I realized at some point that I was talking to people I could learn a lot from.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Scribd Inc. (Toronto, ON)
Interview
start with recruiter screening - hiring manager - virtual onsite. hiring manager went over the team and then asked few behavioral questions. In virtual onsite there will be 2 rounds coding and system design
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
what are the projects you have worked on previously?
The interview went okay. Mostly behavioural questions were asked in first interview. I could gauge that internal team structure was missing and probably the interview was a front to hire someone internal. Received an email 15 minutes after the first interview that they have hired someone else.
The interview formats were typical, though most rounds felt very disorganized and unprepared. I was made to feel very confident that I was going to receive an offer after the final rounds, and then fence posts kept moving until I was told otherwise. I left feeling that my time was wasted by the recruiter, and that the company's standards for professionalism were quite low.
