I had a 20 minute call with a recruiter and a 30 min. call the following day with the hiring manager. Later that same week, I interviewed with three team members in a row, each for 30 minutes. I was told by the recruiter I would receive an update the following week, and when I heard nothing, I sent a follow-up email. I received no response to this email nor another follow-up I sent the following week and eventually received a canned rejection email. After the time and energy I devoted to the interview process, and the very positive experience I had talking with both the hiring manager and team members, it was incredibly disheartening to have radio silence from the company and then not even receive a personalized rejection email.
