I applied directly through their website, a recruiter called me a month or so after I had submit my application. I had forgotten that I'd even applied. I asked the recruiter to send a job description to me prior to our call so that I could refresh my memory of the position which she promised to but never did. The position was no longer on the website, so it was challenging to prepare for the call. After the 45 minute phone call with the recruiter (which included a "test") I was also sent a series of online assessments to complete. I assume that I did well on the assessments because I received a call from the recruiter that I would move on to a phone interview with the hiring manager. The call was scheduled for the following week but the hiring manager never called. I called the recruiter to find out what happened and was told that the hiring manager had been in a meeting and couldn't call me. I expected at least an email or call from someone to apologize, which is what I would have done as a candidate if I couldn't make the interview. Imagine if I, as a candidate, did not show up or call for a scheduled interview. I am certain that I would not have been called back. I should have taken this as a sign. Finally after a week of rescheduling (oh yeah, the interview was rescheduled twice), I finally spoke to the manager. It was clear that he had not prepared or reviewed my resume prior to the call. Overall, I did not enjoy the interview or feel as if I would fit in at this place. It goes without saying that I did not hear back from either the recruiter or the hiring manager after the call to let me know if I would move on to the next step in the process. To all recruiters: A simple note to say thank you for your time but no thanks is a simple courtesy that ALL companies should practice. In all, I'm so grateful that I received an offer from a different company on the same day as my phone interview with the hiring manager. The lack of respect for the interview process shown here let me know that I did not want to work there.
