      Internal Project Consultant (Non-IT) Interview

      Apr 28, 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Hoffman Estates, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (Hoffman Estates, IL) in Jun 2010

      Interview

I was initially contacted by the recruiter (from resume posted on Career Builder) about a position which I did not end up pursuing. About a week after I turned that opportunity down, the recruiter reached out to me about this position. I spoke with the recruiter over the phone to get more details and decided to proceed with the interview process. I did not have a phone interview, so the on-site interview was my first time speaking with the hiring manager. It took a couple weeks after I accepted the interview to get our schedules coordinated for me to come in. The interview consisted of three 1:1 interviews. The first two were with my would-be peers and lasted roughly 30 minutes each. They each gave me a brief background of their careers and then we went through my resume and discussed past experience/projects. It was very relaxed and conversational based; they weren't taking any notes. The third interview was about an hour long and was with the hiring manager. This was more of a behavioral style interview. I was asked the "Tell me about a time when..." and "What would you do in this situation..." type of questions. It was more formal and the interviewer was taking notes as I was speaking. Overall, the interview was fairly relaxed and it ended with a description of what the onboarding process looked like if I were to be hired and the inintial training that would be involved. I ended up receiving an offer the next day.
