I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SecurityScorecard (New York, NY) in Nov 2018
Interview
I had a strange experience with SecurityScorecard.
After submitting my resume online, a recruiter contacted me to set up a phone screen. This initial call was fairly standard, and the recruiter was polite, but after hearing him pitch their product I did note upfront that I might not have the skill set they were looking for. The recruiter mentioned he’d pass my information along to the hiring manager anyway, just in case he was interested. I thanked him and, as I didn’t hear back after a week, figured that it simply wasn’t a good match.
However, after two weeks, I was surprised when they asked to set up a time for me to speak with the hiring manager. I took the call but, to be honest, it wasn’t the most pleasant conversation. I’m fine with interviewers who want to challenge you and push your thinking, but the hiring manager seemed a bit aggressive and condescending to me. He asked me a question, then dismissively admitted that he didn’t actually expect me to answer it, he just wanted to see what I would say. At one point, his computer apparently crashed and I could hear him swearing and slapping his computer over the phone. I understand that that’s a frustrating situation, but anger is not a good look when you’re meeting with someone for the first time. It certainly doesn’t reflect well on the company — which is a shame, because it seems like they have a great product and they’re highly rated by their employees.
I haven’t heard back from them after a few weeks, and I’m assuming I won’t. I’m okay with that, as I don’t think it’s a good fit for me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What’s a good day at the office look like for you? A bad day?
Hiring Manager round. Followed by a few xfn rounds. Typical behavioral PM questions. Data / infra focus. Questions to probe technical fluency. Seemed like a great place to work. Haven't made it to the technical rounds but I would imagine the process would have a t least one round that is enitrely technical / domain expertise
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at SecurityScorecard (New York, NY) in Jan 2025
Interview
Interview process was great, the recruiter was friendly and my interviewers were very helpful and answered a lot of questions I had about the company. Was a recruiter screen plus 3 rounds with hiring manager, leadership, and engineering.

Tell me about a time you identified a major user pain point. What did you do?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SecurityScorecard (Washington, DC) in Jan 2024
Interview
Short initial screening with a scheduled followup. I showed for the followup, the interviewer did not. Reached out a few times and no response. I can understand if the interviewer simply thought I was not a good fit, however ghosting me and letting me sit around wasting my time is very unprofessional
