First was a lengthy phone interview with HR - about 45 minutes - that went over my relevant experience and my ability to handle the job expectations.
About two weeks later I was called by the store director for an in-person interview wherein she vaguely checked my interest in several other positions in addition to the one for which I had applied. She gave me a store tour and went over the job expectations for about three different positions.
I was soon called in for another interview with the assistant store director, who seemed to have no knowledge of my first interview, nor the additional positions that had been outlined for me. He asked me all of the same questions that had been asked in the first interview.
I was called toward the end of the week by the store director, who explained to me that she thought my skills would be better used in customer service, and she wanted to offer me a job as a cashier. As a recent graduate with management experience I did not feel that was exactly what I wanted to go for. She said she would get back to me as I required full-time employment and a reasonable living wage.
She called me back a few days after that to offer me the position previously mentioned with a considerably higher starting wage than normal, with the intention of advancement.
