      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Sentinel (Downers Grove, IL) in Jan 2016

      Interview

The interview process was very smooth and having a recruiter help me along the way was very beneficial. I received a call from a Recruiter in December 2015 for another Recruiter position that they were hiring for in June 2016, after my college graduation in May 2016. Having someone as a point of contact keeping in touch with me through the entire process was great!

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sentinel (Downers Grove, IL)

      Interview

I interviewed with Sentinel Technologies earlier in the year. The HR manager contacted me through the phone to set up a phone interview. I set up a date and completed the phone interview. He then invited me for a face to face interview. One of the recruiters sent me paperwork to complete before going on-site. I went to the interview on the scheduled time. There, I talked to the HR manager and HR Director. They asked me typical questions: What did you do in your last position, Why did you apply to this position, etc.? The face to face lasted 20-30 mins. Then the HR manager invited me for a tour of the entire place. It was a great experience and I asked a lot of questions and was very engaging. In the end, he told me that he will follow up with me in a week. I sent them a thank you note after. At that point, I thought I did fantastic job and was very confident that I got the job. A week later no response, then another week past NO RESPONSE. I emailed the HR manager a follow up email to check the status of my application. A week past, NO RESPONSE. Then I emailed the HR MANAGER AND THE HR DIRECTOR a follow up email. NO RESPONSE. I'm like are you serious??? I never had such unprofessional-ism even in my own HR RECRUITING PROCESS!!! Couple of months later, I saw that they opened up more recruiting positions. AS AGGRAVATED AS I WAS WITH THE LAST TIME I INTERVIEWED WITH THEM, I THOUGHT I GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE. I applied to those positions. 2 days later, I saw that one of the recruiter's from Sentinel called me, but didn't leave a message. How do I know it was one of their recruiter's? I still have the phone number from the HR manager and it was only the last 2 digit changed. I also listened to the voicemail's intro. which gave the recruiter's name and I saw her on LinkedIn as a recruiter for Sentinel. I left her a voicemail to follow up on me because I missed her call. I gave her my information. The next day, I got the traditional rejection email. WOW, REALLY!!! NOT EVEN A PERSONAL PHONE FOLLOW-UP OR EMAIL??? Overall the recruiting process for this company is extremely mediocre, unorganized and unprofessional. Just like what the other interviewee's were mentioning about how they make you seem really interested or lead you on. Then completely cut off/blow off communication and leave you in the dust. I didn't believe this completely at first until I had to experience this myself. As a HR professional myself, this is beyond incompetent and they should be ashamed of their interview process/HR team. So next time you think about applying to this company or am called in for an interview, don't put your hopes up/waste your time and look for something else. You may fall into this trap like everyone else. The reviews DON'T LIE.
