Interview
I recently applied online for a data scientist role and was contacted by HR regarding a potential fit for another position within the company, without any details provided. Despite my interest, the role was not yet open. Subsequently, I scheduled interviews three times with the hiring manager. Unfortunately, on two occasions, the manager did not appear for the interview, leading to rescheduling.
During the third attempt, when the interview finally took place, I found the demeanor of the hiring manager to be less than welcoming. There was minimal effort made to introduce himself or inquire about my background and experience. Instead, the conversation quickly shifted to theoretical questions, which seemed disconnected from the context of the role.
Reflecting on this experience, I am left with concerns about the organization's professionalism and employee culture. If the hiring manager's behavior is indicative of the wider organizational environment, it raises doubts about the workplace culture. Despite the initial interest in the role, I am now hesitant about pursuing opportunities within the company.
