Received an automated rejection email only to get an invite a month later for an informal interview. The interviewer was late, their camera was broken, and I was only given 10 minutes and two questions, which weren't really pertinent to the role (not technical about social media/digital). They then spend the remaining time telling me the process.
I was ultimately not passed on to the next round despite two strong internal references. I felt it should have been up to the hiring manager to make that decision after asking me actual questions related to the role.
I'd also suggest that in the future, the company list how many years experience they are looking for. It would help narrow down the candidates as it was so open ended.
