I interviewed at Sherwin-Williams (London, England) in Oct 2020
Interview
It was a video interview (due to covid restrictions) with senior management and HR. The format was competency questions and running through my CV.
A quite embarrassing event took place though where, after me confirming my right to work/no visa requirement, the HR representative asked me to bring and show my passport in the camera, so that she could check in real time the validity of my saying! I have had hundreds of interviews in my career but that was a first and a very uncomfortable moment - they could just ask me to share a scanned copy after the interview rather than this, as if it was a border check...
My negative gut feel about the company was confirmed when they informed me that I am not progressing to final stage via... an automated generic email (no feedback on my interview of course), the 'please do not respond back' ones.
Very disrespectful to candidates that spent time and energy for 2 interviews for a senior position. That says a lot about the company culture to me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Run through my CV and competency questions, which I felt where not related to the role but more like blanket questions. ie. the role was in brand marketing and instead of being asked about my past experience in NPD/comms, etc. as in other interviews they needed examples about eg. strength, integrity
