The process took roughly 2 weeks. I applied through an employee referral, which in my case enabled me to skip the phone interview (though this is not typical). I was interviewed by the CEO, who gave an overview of the company's mission, vision, and values. If you're researching Shield AI you already know it has an inspiring & life-saving mission, and the CEO in person is very passionate and lays out a credible roadmap toward some truly ambitious goals. Questions for me included what you might expect: past achievements, resume walk-through, my interests, but emphasized values and character.
Following the initial interview I came on-site and interviewed one-on-one with both of the other co-founders. These interviews were similar, exploring different aspects of my background and returning to personal values. Overall the interviewers created a friendly atmosphere while asking relevant questions.
Normally they'll ask for an applicant to provide a presentation, but the process is occasionally tailored. In my case I was asked to produce some representative work product: such as a technical writing sample and red-line of an agreement. I did this work on-site which, in addition to the interviews, provided a great opportunity for me to learn more about the team & culture.
I received an offer the following week and was excited to accept!
