I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shield AI (Frisco, TX) in Feb 2025
Interview
The interview was onsite and began with a tour of the office/floor; a calm intro/warmup. I then presented to the manager and several engineers a topic of my choice related to the role. It's imperative you understand your content in its entirety and can provide sufficient reasoning for engineering decisions. The technical 1:1 followed and was a fair and effective whiteboard assessment. After that I met with an engineer from another discipline, and we had more of a casual interview about my experiences working with a team. I was taken out to lunch with a few members of the team and this was a nice chance to learn more about the area and the company. An interview with the senior director followed which helped answer the question: Do my career interests align with Shield's? The interview closed with a conversation with the manager to address any lingering questions. It was overall a very pleasant experience from recruitment to conclusion. The interview was challenging in that I was assessed for everything, but success is certainly achievable with honest, relevant experience.
