I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Shield AI (Amsterdam) in Jul 2026
Interview
The process consisted of different stages over several weeks. It started with an initial screening call with an HR recruiter, followed by an interview with the Hiring Manager, which included both a behavioral component and a technical portion focused on code review. The third stage was a coding round based on LeetCode-style problems.
The final stage was a full onsite day, which included a presentation of past projects with a Q&A session in front of a panel, two separate behavioral interviews (one focused on company values, one on teamwork/collaboration), and a technical system design interview.
Overall, the process was thorough and well-structured, with clear expectations for the presentation and interview stages throughout.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The coding round involved a fairly standard algorithmic problem, similar in style to common coding-interview platforms, along with a code review exercise of comparable difficulty.
The behavioral interviews covered fairly typical questions about teamwork, collaboration style, and how I approach working within a team and company culture, nothing company-specific or overly detailed.
The system design interview focused on designing a system end-to-end rather than a narrow, domain-specific problem. It wasn't purely a software engineering exercise, but touched on the broader technical stack as a whole (covering aspects beyond just code, such as overall architecture and integration considerations).
