I applied online and was contacted the same day to set up a phone interview for later that week. I applied from out of state and was really excited that I was not overlooked for being 1800 miles away. After speaking with Analiese on the phone, I could tell that it was a company that I wanted to work for. After a positive phone interview, I was told that they wanted to have me come to the office for an in person interview. A week later I was on a plane going to the office to meet some of the crew. After a brief tour of the office I was put in one of the conference rooms where I had two separate interviews one with my prospective boss and one with two of the product owners. Throughout the whole time that I was at the office members of the team constantly checked on me to make sure there wasn't anything I needed and to fill me in on what was going to happen next in the process. After the interviews, I attended one of the weekly wine hours where I spent time talking to a lot of the team members in a much less formal format. It was really great that the whole team made me feel so welcome even during an interview. When I was ready to leave, Analiese made sure to inform me about the next steps that would be taken, a personality assessment and an interview with the CTO. Early in the next week I received an email with the link to the personality test. After reviewing my results it was decided that I could move on to the final round of the interview process and speak with the CTO. The results of the personality test were sent to me for review and played an important part in the final interview. A week later I was scheduled to have a phone interview with the CTO. We talked about the results of the personality test, whether I thought it was accurate or not (this test is surprisingly accurate), and the company values and how I interpreted them. I received the offer letter the same night and about 4 weeks later moved to Boulder and see no reason to look back.
Overall I can say the interview process will probably feel tough, but extremely rewarding. You can tell that if the company offers you a position its not because they just need to fill a spot in the company, but because they really feel that you will be a great fit culturally and exceed expectations professionally. The communication through the whole process was also great, there was never a time where I was unsure what was happening, Analiese always responded incredibly fast to every question or concern I had.
The interview process was a very positive experience for me.
