I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at ShipStation (Austin, TX) in Sep 2017
Interview
I applied online and was emailed for an in person interview almost immediately. I thought it was strange there was no phone screening, but I thought that maybe they believed my background was a good fit.
In person interview lasted only 20 minutes and the two people interviewing seemed to not have any questions prepared. Whole process seemed to be quite rushed and disorganized. I tried asking some more specifics on what the position entailed, but they were quite vague and what they were saying wasn't exactly matching the online posting.
Following the interview they gave no details on next steps and I had to email to find out. They told me they would email regarding next steps the following week and of course never received any word back.
Overall just another tech company with a disorganized hiring process that leaves a poor taste.

Question 1
Very basic tell me about your background...your writing process, etc.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at ShipStation (Austin, TX) in Sep 2017
Interview
ShipStation moves quickly! I applied online where there was a typing test and a process/instruction writing sample. I heard back within a week. Following a brief, initial phone interview, I was invited in for a panel interview. Most of the questions were behavioral, and related to customer service experience, problem solving, and applicable skills. All panel members (and staff in general!) were highly professional and very friendly. They listened attentively and answered all of my questions. Regarding the facilities, the work space looks new, clean, and comfortable, but really I saw only the reception area and a conference room.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe the setting, action, final outcome, and evaluation regarding a time when you either 'held the line' or 'gave in' on a policy matter, work method, or similar scenario.
Received an email about a week after replying asking me to answer two questions. One of them was how to assemble a PB&J. The day after I finished the questionnaire I received a follow-up email asking to schedule a phone interview in the next day or two. I reply with times, followed-up the next day when I didn't hear and then followed-up again after the two days. I never heard anything back from the company. Easily the worst hiring experience I have ever had with a company. Unfortunate considering I like their product.
