I have had a total of 3 interviews with this company for two different positions. About 6 months ago I had the interviews for the first role went very well even though I didn’t get the role (they let me know the first time). The executive director was a great interviewer and conversationalist. They liked me enough to keep me on file for another position and this is where my opinion changes. I think Shiseido is a great company with a rich history that I would still love to work for, but after my experience during the interview for another role.. I’ll probably steer clear from the Miami office. Interviewing the second time around didn’t really cover talking about me as a candidate, but they were more concerned if I was serious about moving across the country. On top of the interviewer being lackluster and kind of rude, I feel like they were so concerned about if I was really willing to move rather than my skills and qualifications. Why keep someone on file who isn’t local if you’re going to put them through the waiting game again? And why would someone apply to a job in a city they have no intent on moving to? I’m more disappointed in the fact that I was willing to break my lease on my apartment for a company that doesn’t have the common decency to at least get back to candidates who are ready to move immediately for them. Right company, wrong location.
