I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Dublin, Dublin) in Jun 2020
Interview
I applied through a referral link. Was contacted 3 weeks later and asked to do a typing test and reply to an example email from a merchant wanting to sell digital products. I then was invited to the life story interview, which was a 45 min chat pretty much just about my experience up till now. I then got my technical interview 2 days later. This was tough, the information they send you to revise for this doesn't even come up. It felt rushed. Two live chats, then a phone call, then an email.
You only have ten minutes to reply to the email, I really thought I did well for all of these but I got an email the next day saying I didn't fit the criteria. (????) that I need to work on teaching people, and guide them more rather than send them links. I feel as though I guided them as much as I could, without proper training.
I try harded so much for this application, I made a YouTube video for it, I spent HOURS every day studying the admin and reading the help docs, only to be turned away on something they could train into me when hired.
I feel as though I put too much effort in. If you're currently applying, I advise don't waste too much time on it. I spent hours, made a YouTube video, did test live chats and calls with friends... Only to be told I don't fit in.
The first Interview was on phone interview. I did not pass through to next stage of the process, which was an online test. After that would be another formal interview.

Interview
The interview process was pretty intense. They asked me about my life story, but I’d also created a store before that. Then I had to do a technical interview where I pretended I already had the job.

The interview experience was professional, friendly and organized. Interviewee did notify via email whether I got the offer or not. Great to hear back the results since typically companies don't.
