I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify
Interview
Life Story and Deep Dive as other have previously mentioned. Over the web and only one person attended the deep dive. They asked me to prepare a lengthy presentation and spend time to explain a project but then did not really let me get into it. I felt as though the person interviewing didn’t give me a chance and immediately asked irrelevant questions about the presentation. Overall life story didn’t seem too bad just a casual conversation, but overall felt the interview process was more of a sorority pledge than a formal interview.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Shopify (Toronto, ON) in Sep 2017
Interview
It was a very friendly and welcoming process that lasted about 2 hours and took place at their office in Toronto. The first hour was with someone from HR or culture to determine culture fit with Shopify, followed by skill fit interview with the research team itself.
