1. Interview with HR
2. Life story interview, where I had to tell HR all my life and professional events starting from high school and until present days
3. Present one of my projects. I spent 3 days preparing the demo, presented it to another UX manager and got a positive feedback.
And then I was ghosted. 2 weeks later I sent a follow up email, response was “I don’t have anything to say”. I received another offer 1 month later and decided to drop a message to HR again to find out if they have any update. And nothing again. 3 more weeks later I sent another email, and response was “position is filled, but we can offer a lower position in another division”.
The funny thing is they don’t want to discuss salary during interviews. This is very frustrating. The trick here is that when you pass all rounds and they send you an offer, you can’t negotiate it and the chance of offer acceptance is higher due to the fact that you have a valid offer and rejecting it would mean that you wasted your time. This scheme works for Shopify, but it doesn’t work for candidates. But who cares, right?
If the company doesn’t value candidate’s time and efforts during hiring process, I wouldn’t want to work there.
The greatest waste of time.
