I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Shopify (Atlanta, GA)
Interview
Interview with the hiring manager, SQL pair programming, data interpretation, case study, reverse case study, and final interview. Most lengthy interview process I have ever gone through. Not specifically difficult, just too many steps. They appeared to be changing their process as some interviewers weren't aware of what I was interviewing for or where I was in the process. Posting is evergreen as well so there isn't a specific job you are interviewing for which makes it more difficult as you are navigating the process.
First round: Case study style SQL questions with python coding and short assessment like an IQ test
Final round: marketplace case study, coding based analysis, life story, and in depth project
Scheduling was very difficult and I had to spend a lot of time following up with the recruiter to move things along. They weren't able to tell me who my manager would be or provide any input on that person. In the end they simply never contacted me back after a final technical round. My impression is they didn't want to offer me a job but were unable to be direct about that-- it was such a bizarre process especially with an established organization.
