I was initially contacted a third party and, after applying directly on Sidley Austin's website, was contacted for a phone screening. Following the phone screen, a senior recruiter set-up an interview but cancelled at the last minute as she has "double booked".
We rescheduled for the following week and had a pleasant but short conversation where the interview process was outlined to me. There we're apparently up to a total of 6 stages consisting of both in-person and video call interviews with multiple members of the firm at various levels.
During the actual interview, the recruiter seemed uninterested and distracted while listening to some of my responses. Following this conversation, I never received another communication from the company.
