Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked for me to tell them a little bit about myself. Also how my projects relate to the role.
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sierra Space (Longmont, CO) in Mar 2025
Interview
Multi-phase interview. Phase one was a phone interview with the team lead covering general info on the position and my work background. Phase two was a Zoom call with the team lead and PM, again discussing general info and team culture. Phase three was an on-site interview with the team lead, PM and 2 team members. The on-site started with me giving a 10-minute powerpoint presentation on how one of my past experiences meshed with one of the company's core values. This was followed by an in-depth round of technical questions, and then more culture/leadership focused questions. From some verbal feedback and reading the room, it seemed the team was very satisfied with my answers and presentation.
I didn't get offered this position, and although I enjoyed the interview process, I'm rating it a "disapprove". The only feedback I got back for hours of time interviewing over 3 weeks, traveling to the on-site, and preparing slides for a 10+ minute presentation, was a barebones automated rejection email. Not even so much as a phone call. Pretty massive waste of time and effort, and I don't think I'd entertain going through this process again with this company.
