I was contacted via LinkedIn by a Sig Sauer recruiter about a position. The recruiter requested I contact him if I was interested. I responded to the recruiter about 10 hours after receiving the InMail, indicating I was very interested in the position. The recruiter responded with a very rude InMail. He informed me that he was NOT the recruiter for the position. I was not to contact him regarding this position. However, due to my impressive qualifications, he would forward my profile to the appropriate recruiter. Very rude. This recruiter sent me the InMail about the position and requested I contact him, if I was interested. Then, he is upset when I contact him? The tone of the InMail was that I should feel grateful he is forwarding me resume. I've heard nothing since, which is highly unusual. Until Sig Sauer, every recruiter who has contacted me via LinkedIn, when I express interest, immedidately set-up a phone interview. It is the professional thing to do. It is a huge red flag. Most companies put their best foot forward during the recruiting process. It is concerning that this might be Sig Sauer's most professional behavior.
