A recruiter called unexpectantly for phone interview without confirming a time by responding to my email with my availability. He virtually said nothing other than his name and with signify regarding in home health assessments position. It was quickly apparent I would have to lead the conversation with my own questions regarding the position that I had to come up with on the spot with no prior warning. He asked me nothing about myself or qualifications. After he answered each question he’d go silent causing many awkward breaks in the conversation where I was expecting him to take the lead. I even asked him if he had questions for me and said he just wanted to know if I was available to travel and work 3-4 days a week. He did seem knowledgeable of my questions regarding pay and what the next steps were. So I think I basically have the job once I respond to the application email and my credentials are verified. Now I question if I’d want to work for a company with these poor interviewing skills and hiring standards.
