I was referred to the company by a former intern, so with that contact I was able to get an interview with the Director of Engineering. We talked for 15-20 minutes about the classes I had taken, personal interests, etc. Everything sounded like it went smoothy and I got a call a few days later to confirm that I had gotten the job.
