Since I was part of the "support" staff, the hiring process was handled through a regular human resources process. First, I applied to a head hunting firm who screened applicants. Then interviewed with person in charge of alll administrative employees. Particular attention was paid to amount of previous experience dealing with people at the Partner level who were "artist."
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2018
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter for the position. I was contacted via linkedin because the international team was looking to replace the person prior because they weren't doing a "great job performance". The overall interviewing process lasted a month because the hiring manager was not very communicative with the recruiter and I about delays and complications. I had a really good phone interview with the hiring manager. The situation ended up being really annoying and inconsiderate on Skidmore's end because they tried to rush me into the office to do the final interview. I told them my schedule and when I was available to come meet the team, only for them to disregard it and make me come in on a day that was not a good day for me. The interview was supposed to last an hour and a half to two hours but got cut short suddenly due to the team being "too busy to meet because of Chinese New Year festivities". I was there for a whopping 30mins. I ended up not getting the job because the team needed someone who was fluent in Mandarin Chinese (which they should have told me that from the beginning.) For such a well known and highly respected global firm, my experience with Skidmore left me with a bitter taste in my mouth because of how inconsiderate they were with my time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (Shanghai, Shanghai) in Jun 2014
Interview
I get the phone call for a first round interview 3 days after i submitted my CV, the HR manager look very polished , we talked about half an hour, very standard questions. The next day i get a call about a second interview with the techical director, i waited in the conference room for over 30 mins, but the interview itself went very smoothly, also standard questions.
