      Flight Attendant Interview

      Sep 28, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Houston, TX) in Mar 2016

      Interview

Hiring process was pretty straight forward. I read interviews and reviews from glass door for about three hours the day before my interview. All the information I got from Glassdoor was completely accurate. I felt totally prepared. I visited "flight attendant career.com" and saw SKYWEST was hiring and had an upcoming open interview in Houston, Texas. I applied to SKYWEST on March 7th, on March 8th, I received an email invitation to group interview being held March 9th, 2016. I arrived to the 30 minutes early, with two copies my resume and cover letter. I wore my hair pulled back into a low bun and modest make-up with red lipstick. My attire consisted of a fashionable white sheer top, a black blazer with no collar, black lacks, and black closed toe heels... Guys, I suggest a clean shave, no earrings, a button up shirt with a tie (minimum), slacks and dress shoes. *NO visible tattoos. *CLEAN clothings *Ladies NO tight or revealing clothing *Sunday's best if aren't comfortable or familiar with business professional attire. Once it was time for the interview, the recruiters gathered us and brought us over to the group interview room. We stood in a single filed line and handed in our resumes and letter of recommendation from a SkyWest employee (if we had one). From there were asked to take off our shoes and be measured to see if we fell between 5'0-6'0 without shoes. We were told to go in and take a seat, we sat amongst ourselves for a ten minutes. **PLEASE BEWARE** as soon as you step foot into the group interview room, recruiters ARE WATCHING how you interact with one another. Be friendly! Be polite! Wear your "Flight Attendant" faces (friendly smiles). When they were ready, three recruiters came up and introduced themselves. They us the history of the company, and what was expected of us: job description, training, compensation, and relocation based on company need. Afterwards we each had to stand in front of the room and introduce ourselves and explain why we would want to be a flight attendant... there were 30-40 people in my group interview so it took a little of time to do. ** Please avoid saying "I like to travel" everyone does. " I come from a diverse family."... "I have a great personality" show it don't tell... and "I want to see the world" once again, everyone does. What will stand out is showing your personality during your introduction, highlighting your experience in customer service, and being well spoken. Remember you will be giving 4-6 announcements every flight once you become a flight attendant. (= After the introductions, we were given a 30 minute break. The recruiters chose the individuals to go on to the second round of (individual) interviews. When we came back, the list of names of was posted on the door outside of the group interview room. Those who made the cut re-entered the room, everyone else left. The second round of interviews was pretty standard, questions to gauge your personality, get a sense of how serious you are about being a flight attendant, and scenario questions. After everything was over, I received an email a week later inviting me to training in Salt Lake City three weeks later.
