The absolute worst interview process I have ever seen in my life. From the excessive number of meetings and interviews, unnecessary slide presentations, and interviewers that just flat out failed to show up for the meetings on time or mindlessly canceled AFTER the interview time had already started without the curiosity of reaching out... It just felt like a complete lack of respect for everyone's time(mine, the employees and the company's). I had a feeling in my stomach to tell them "nevermind" after they wanted to schedule 9+ hours worth of meetings and interviews (I should have trusted that gut feeling). It boggles my mind how many amazing candidates they must scare off! Plus allowing 3-7 of their employees to sit in interviews for up to 9hrs each and not be otherwise productive seems like utter insanity and an egregious waste of resources.
From the outside it appears there is pure chaos and a compete inability to make decisions internally at Skydio. Not enabling the right managers to do their jobs and hire the right people is a clear signal to how the company is ran overall.
Being based out of Silicon Valley seems like a major negative as they have to pay insane amounts for salaries which end up still being quite low for the area when it comes to the critical roles. I have heard very mixed reactions when it comes to user experience with their drones and the news articles about Skydios failure in Ukraine really start to make sense after you get a small peak into the company.
