I applied in-person. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Skype (Tallinn) in Jun 2011
Interview
First there was a phone interview with someone from the HR department. It was a general skills and background assessment interview.
Then, a while later, there was an interview with 2 technical people from my future department.
The third interview was with yet another 2 technical people.
The interviews were nice and not very formal. They were interested more in the creative thinking, communicative skills and general background knowledge rather than knowing of specific facts or having specific experience or degree. The people had different national backgrounds and the whole hiring process was 99% in English. The people were friendly and I don't have anything negative to say about the process. However, I don't have anything conspicuously good to point out either.
The office was modern, cozy and quiet; it was neither cold nor warm; the interior design was stylish and tasteful.
A week later, I was sent an e-mail with a test assignment which I was expected to time-estimate and which I eventually delivered in about a week.
