Interview
The process was seamless and pleasant upfront, and my salary expectations were known. Along the process, only positive feedback was provided to continue moving forward and each person I met with was incredibly awesome to speak with. Unfortunately, towards the end (after 2 phone screens and 5 - 45 minute interviews across 2 different markets, and multiple emails to continue moving forward), it was casually brought in that I would be brought in at a lower level and salary than I had stated from the beginning, this was stated after being told they would like to continue to the last case interview. I advocated for myself and unfortunately after close to a week of pending leadership conversations, I was not provided any room for negotiation or great feedback to reasoning and ultimately advised we were too far off to continue forward after all. I truly had a great experience until then, and even if not the intent, it was a disappointing feeling to have gotten through so many interviews and positive feedback to be told we can no longer move forward because I advocated for my salary (oh which is reasonable in market value and current salary).
Not too difficult. All questions were what you would expect. A few rounds with the hiring manager, and others from the team / umbrella which included a case study. The prompt was given with a few different options and fairly simple to deliver.

Four separate 30 minute interviews. Each with a different individual. Each interview was supposed to be focused on one thing like culture or technical skills, but in reality the interviewers did what they wanted.

Very friendly, multiple screeners with people in the local office (over zoom). They'll ask about any consulting experience, but mostly want to get to know you as a person. Just be yourself.
