Interview
Strange. I got contacted by a few different people so it was confusing. I had a phone interview to start and then they brought me in for in-person interviews. I found the I had to lead both interviews because the people I spoke with did not seem experienced enough to ask thoughtful questions. I was not even told in advance with whom I would be meeting with so it was a surprise and made me feel uncomfortable because I didn't know their names.
I was wary of this company based on all the negative feedback I read here on Glassdoor so I brought that up. The recruiter said that all the negativity was from a few people that they fired and it was "bad blood". She even said that some of the reviews are from the same person? There was a LOT of talk about people they had fired...seems to be symptomatic of a very unhealthy environment.
I know that where there is smoke there is fire. So when I found out they didn't want to move me along, I felt like I dodged a bullet! Very unprofessional process and I would be very, very wary when talking to them. Absolutely ask about the Glassdoor reviews if you interview because it's very important to see the bigger picture.
I also think they changed their name to distance themselves from all the negativity. I doubt they will be in business much longer.
Normal to difficult. questions related to the product domain. learn the entire product flow. Concentrate or read about utility domain and customer experience, workforce experience, payments domain. Go though the SEW website in detail and learn about the products
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Smart Energy Water (Irvine, CA) in Apr 2022
Interview
Simple and unstructured. the person doing the initial interview had no idea if the answer was correct or not. they were just looking to see if they thought you could get along with others.
It's not always quick and easy to get hired. The job interview process can be lengthy. Being interviewed once and getting a job offer is typically a thing of the past. Today, many companies have an involved interview process starting with screening interviews, which often take place on the phone, followed by in-person interviews, second interviews, and even third interviews.
