      Technology Interview

      Jul 23, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Deerfield Beach, FL
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SmartProcure (Deerfield Beach, FL) in May 2016

      Interview

Getting in was really quick one or two days after I called the HR dept. The interview was with the Owner (I've forgotten his name). I found the condition of the office to be in really poor shape, dirty dingy and old. Cubicles more like Cubbyhole looks pretty stained and nasty like the carpet. I hate to say it but perception matters and the one I got was of a fly by night company or payday loan house. Lots of employees hanging about the parking lot looking grim and smoking everywhere. The smell was awful. As far as the interview got the impression that his plan would have been to slot me into some role and tell me how he wanted me to do my job. You know the job one I have almost 20 years of experience doing. Gun to my head I wouldn't work for this guy.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Owners questions were on point with what I do and we talked about past examples of my work. He worked unusually hard to paint me into a corner with his questions and catch me in any inconsistency he could imagine. I found him to be the very definition of nitpicking "to looking for small or unimportant errors or faults, especially in order to criticize unnecessarily"
