Interview
I applied online. About a day later a recruiter asked my availability for an intro interview. It was scheduled a few days after that. I tested the video software ahead of time and everything worked. When the interviewer jumped on she claimed she couldn't hear me and that I needed to fix it on my end. I spent a few minutes trying everything I could think of. She was getting frustrated with me that I couldn't figure it out. She finally said she would try something on her end and sure enough it was an issue with her computer. Interview went well, she either was impressed with my responses are really great at being fake. She asked every standard question in the book, so just google those and you'll be good to go. At the conclusion of the interview she said she would send the recorded video to the hiring manager and would get in touch with me either way by the start of next week. I followed up twice, no response. The job posting had been taken down and so I looked on LinkedIn to see if they had hired someone... they did. Still haven't heard back. Its frustrating and unfortunately very unprofessional and doesn't help their reputation.

Interview
- Applied via LinkedIn which took me to their website to apply
- Recruiter emailed within a week to set up the first screening call
- Recruiter setup a Skype meeting with the hiring manager a few days later
- Skype interview went well and I was asked to come in for a f2f interview with the hiring manager
- I did that interview and was assigned a project to get back to them that weekend which I did
- Recruiter then emailed that they’d like to move toward making an offer so I sent my pay stub and references, who they did call
- Then the Recruiter calls, not to make an offer, but to say there will be an indirect manager so I need to come back in and meet with him. Odd they wouldn’t have figured that out before the “making an offer” email but okay I go back in and meet with him
- Next think I know I get a generic rejection email that they chose a candidate that better fit there requirements and wish me the best of luck
Now it is fine if they didn’t want to hire me, I think it is was unprofessional to get to the “calling my references because they want to make me an offer” step but then don’t even give me the courtesy of an actual phone call to tell me they changed their mind. The culture was obviously one of high energy and extreme growth but letting things move so fast that you forget you are talking to an actual person on the other side is a slippery slope.
