Interview
Awful experience with the initial phone interview. The recruiter was extremely unfriendly and curt. Did not try to get to know me or my background, just launched directly into behavioral questions which seemed very bizarre to me. An initial screen is meant to serve as an opportunity for company and candidate to get to know each other, instead I was speaking to someone that seemed very impersonal, condescending and robotic. Do better!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Smithfield Foods in Apr 2023
Interview
I was contacted by the recruiter, who was great. She scheduled me immediately for a 2nd round with a peer and a leader. The peer arrived to the interview 15 minutes late, and the leader did not show at all. I reached out to the recruiter to follow up, and she was silent for a month. When she rescheduled me, it was with a different manager. While that conversation went very well, and he gave indication that we would move forward, I received an email the next day that they were going in a different direction. It didn't feel like I was a priority and taking a month to get back was frustrating.
