      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at SnapMagic

      Interview

If you don’t want to waste your precious time, think twice or even triple before deciding to go further in the hiring process. The CEO contacted me on LinkedIn saying that based on my experience I could be a perfect fit for their QA position and asked to apply for the first step (I didn’t received any job ad to understand the role). I scheduled the interview and right of the bat the interviewer was late. I decided to wait a little and then I received an email asking if I could wait for 15 minutes. The 15 minutes has passed and nothing, after 30 minutes I received an email asking to reschedule the interview for the next 30 minutes. This was an alert, but I decided to go on. I did the interview and it was extremely fast, with those typical questions. After that, I received an email asking to complete a Google form with a technical test. I did the test, it wasn’t difficult but definetly time consuming. After finishing it, I received another one, and again a new time consuming task, since it was requested to test a specific page of the company, and list all bugs found including their steps to reproduce and create a customer report. However, it was also asked me to answer some support questions based on their support document. After I have finished the task, a new one was sent requesting about a live evaluation on their support system (what? Another test stage and for Support?). I scheduled the test but during at this time I received another email saying that the CEO would like to talk with me. During the interview a different person appeared, and it was told to me that the CEO was feeling under the weather. The person who did the interview is awesome and really knows how to do it, the problem is that some repeated questions were done and she didn’t know how to answers some questions of mine, since I was prepared to speak with the CEO and wrote some questions for her. The live evaluation was a completely fail. It was briefly explained about the support system and what to do. Then I had to answer in 1 hour the questions of the users (It was previously said that would be two hours but it was reduced to one). Each question should be answered in 10 minutes. The problem is that I don’t know their internal process and even their business rules to be able to provide a clear Support for all the specific questions like “Is my BGA Calculator right?”, and in such shortless time. How the applicant will gonna be able to understand all the business rules in a single shot with poor documentation and then understand a tool of the company never seen before and start answering the users questions in 1 hour without knowing their internal process?  I have experience with the hiring process since and it's clear that they have a deep problem in how to manage it. Unfortunately, it was a total waste of time. A Support Engineer is totally different from a QA Engineer role. It’s clear that they don’t know how to manage a hiring process and even know which is the role that they are looking for. I received some emails with my name wrong and even the company culture values, which they wanted to ensure, was sent wrong, they forgot to mention one value that is in their website. I’m glad that I wasn’t hired since I currently work in a company which is responsible and organized, and I would be extremely regret if I had left to work on this.
