      Sales Engineer Interview

      Aug 18, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Snyk in Jun 2022

      Interview

Company is too lazy to properly screen out candidates with a few questions, so they'll have you learn the product for free and present it back to them. If you focus on the technical bit, they'll tell you you weren't sales-y enough and vice versa. There is ZERO alignment between the recruiters, hiring managers, and other stakeholders in the decision to employ. Having candidates demo their product to them is the height of laziness and recent Glassdoor reviews seem to suggest that talent is leaving. I don't blame them! If for some reason you want to work here, make sure you can demo the product and answer most any moderate-level objection. That said, you can find what Snyk offers from a comp perspective most anywhere so like why work here.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you learn, what does a good AE/SE relationship look like, does your company do trials....basically boiler plate stuff.
