"While you have a great background and gave some well-considered answers, we’ve had really high calibre applicants for this role".
Yes, that's what a company in the 21st century tells applicants in a rejection email.
I have never been so belittled & disrespected in my life.
While I didn't expect constructive feedback, the rejection email was absolutely horrendous and tells me all I need to know about the company.
About the process:
Applied online and got contacted by the people's team. Had a 45 minute call with HR, after which I moved on to a 45 minute chat with the hiring manager who is located in Israel.
The interview was standard:
15 minute intro about the company and role
20 minutes going through my resume
5 minute 'what feature would you build for your favourite app' question
5 minute question time:

Question 1
The only product question that came up was 'what feature would you build for your favourite app?'
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Snyk (Manchester, England) in Sep 2020
Interview
The interview process consisted of the following conversations over a 2 month period:
1: Screening process by internal recruiter.
2: Discussion with a team leader regarding career so far and a brief technical discussion.
3: Take home test creating a service consuming an API.
4: 1.5 hour discussion with two engineers regarding my solution and how to further enhance.
5: 1.5 hour discussion with CTO.
6: 1 hour discussion with the team about fit and history.
7: Final catch-up with internal recruiter.
No offer was made at this point due to a recruitment freeze. A few months later, I contacted Synk again regarding opportunities. A 1.5 hour technical discussion then followed with a product team lead. No offer was made after this discussion.
Everybody I met at Snyk was extremely pleasant. I had some great conversations. The technical take home test was a great way to demonstrate a candidates technical capabilities. The further discussions allowed me to demonstrate my thought process to questions and ability to think on my feet.
The only negative comment I can make is that the process was a little long. It did feel as though I was slightly "messed around" at times. That maybe a little strong I guess but to have 8 calls and 2 rejections felt a little funny. It may have been a combination of bad timing and no suitable role at the time but it did leave a little sour taste.
Overall, I thought the whole process was good, just a little long and not timed well.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Snyk (London, England) in Dec 2020
Interview
Process was very speedy! I was surprised how everything was organized. I had a total of 4 interviews: hiring manager, colleague, director and recruiter. Each stage I was meeting wonderful people that I was soon to call my colleagues.
