I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Sonic (Mesa, AZ) in Oct 2013
Interview
Received a phone call within a week of applying. I went into the store to tell them I was there for my interview, they gave me a medium drink of soda, and had me go sit on the patio to wait. The assistant manager came out in under 5 minutes. It was very typical questions for the most part, with "can you skate?" added. She mostly read off of a list, but we had a bit of conversation in between questions and she made a few jokes. After she got to the end of the paper, she asked if I had any questions, answered them, then had the general manager come out and introduced us. General manager was silly (in a good way), asked how I was, shook my hand, said they'd discuss the interview and get back to me whether I got the job or not. I was waking home when I ran into the assistant manager, who was on a run to the grocery store to get lemons and limes. She pulled over and told me I got the job, and that she was going to give me a call when she got back to the store if she hadn't run into me.
The process was a very simple and friendly interview. Very professional for a fast food chain. Would recommend for a high school student or a recent graduate looking to start making money.
Quick and simple. Simply apply online for the location you want to work in. When they are hiring, they call you back rather quick. Go for the interview and it's easy.
