Initially a recruiter called me about the interview position and called me in his office to assess me.
After passing recruiter assessment, there was a telephonic interview with the hiring Manager and team lead who asked about my profile, past working history and briefly discussed my technical skills.
After this stage, they called for face to face interview, which was more than an hour. 40 mins of personality and behavioral assessment and 20-25 mins of technical test. Manager was missing from interview.
After that. I was asked to give two references, preferable by my previous managers. I did that and also told my ex-managers to complete a survey.
After passing behavioral and technical test, recruiter told me that Manager wants to meet you and have a discussion. I went to interview and they discussed everything from past working experience, again asking behavioral assessment questions. Nothing new was in this stage, and they kept on asking same questions which were asked in last interview. Nothing new. More emphasis was on how can I adjust in the team. I was even asked an stupid question on gender discrimination. To be exact, how would I adjust in an environment where there are lots of female colleagues . Unbelievable :) :)
After four days, I was informed that I am not selected because they had found a better candidate. Though they appreciate my technical and communication skills, they found a candidate which they think, would integrate better in their working environment. ( what ???? why didn't you realize this in first or second interview)
Conclusion:
1) Time wasting directionless process. Behavioral assessments done by untrained technical people.
2) Manager who appeared in final interview seemed to be really unprofessional. Gender discrimination question was clear indication of that.
3) My question on "how Sophos offers a career growth plan for me in this position" made him look a bit uncomfortable. It was quite evident that they have no career growth plan.
