I initially interviewed for the Mid Touch CSM role back in March but got told that I'd be a better fit for the Scaled CSM role that's set to open in a few months. When the requisition opened, I immediately applied for the role
and Jennifer "Jen" Espinosa reached out to me, confirming my availability.
Everything went well until our scheduled Zoom call. At onset, Jen did not have her camera turned on, saying she was already getting ready for bed and that her profile pic looked better than how she currently looks (red flag #1). As we went through with the interview, I was enthusiastically talking with my camera turned on, sharing my experience and insights regarding our topic but Jen's demeanor and tone was starting to go from nice to sarcastic, even cutting me off at times with a solid "NO" and not letting me finish my sentence when our ideas are not in tune (red flag 2 & 3 lol).
Towards the end, she was sounding sleepy and went for a yawn, I think she forgot to mute. As I was answering her last question, she did not let me finish and cut me off by asking why I did not apply for the mid or high touch role since she thinks I'm a better fit there and told me that she has a lot of OTHERRR (yes, with feelings) candidates to go through and that she'd give me an update by EOW.
I'm already expecting a no here but Jen if you're here, please do a better job. Applicants invest time and effort when they apply so please reciprocate the bare minimum by showing respect, even in these pre-screening interviews.
P.S. - I liked the Singaporean recruiter better than the local Jen Espinosa.
