I was applied to this company through a staffing company. The process of interviewing was a bit too easy. I can't remember exact questions but nothing challenged me. The technical part of the in-person interview was with the use of a laptop to perform an extremely basic task in a programming language of my choice. The task was to return a list of students who were above a certain grade.
After the interview, Sorenson expressed interest in hiring me and I countered their offer to ask for a bit more in compensation based on benefits (some meager amount). They then proceeded to dodge my staffing company for weeks and wouldn't take calls or respond to emails. When Sorenson Media finally decided to respond to my recruiter they said a company on my resume gave a bad reference, which has never happened in my entire career. They later changed their reasoning to: a company on my resume claimed I never worked there. I was then forced to call up all of my previous employers and ask if they gave a reference. No company in my history said they gave a reference. Sorenson Media refused to tell me or my recruiter what company on my resume made these claims. To say this was stressful is an understatement.
