I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Sotheby's (New York, NY) in Feb 2015
Interview
I came into the Sotheby's office for my interview, which I also had the choice to do over skype. I prefer one on one so I made the trip, and felt very welcomed and comfortable throughout the process. The interview was more of a conversation, if anything. My interviewer was eager to learn about my past work experience in particular. I think it was important to distinguish why I was so interested in working at Sotheby's (as opposed to Christie's). At the end I was given the opportunity to ask any questions that I might have for my interviewer, and I think it was important to have a few ready to prove that you had done your research. Overall it was a really positive experience.
