This is the worst interview experience I ever had. I applied for "Engineering Manager" position. The next day, HR called me and said that my profile is a good match for "QA Manager" role, and I was called for a F2F discussion.
The first round was taken by an "Engineering Manager". All the questions he asked me were related to "Product Manager"; designing a new product, modules and so on. Not even a single question related to QA or testing.
The second round was taken by a junior QA engineer. His questions were somewhat good; related to test strategies, and I answered all questions as I had good experience in that area.
After the second, HR came back and told me that they are looking for an Test Architect role. They require Java, Data Structures, Algorithms etc, and I'm not fit for that role. I was not even asked single question related Java, Data Structure and Algorithms. In fact, I'm currently working as a Test Architect.
Summary is: they themselves do not know what they're looking for. It started with Engineering Manager, then QA Manager, then Product Manager, and finally Test Architect.
