I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX in Sep 2015
Interview
It began with a recruiter calling me a week after I visited the SpaceX booth at my university's job fair. I had a phone interview with an engineer a few days later, and he assigned me a design project to serve in lieu of a second interview. I had three weeks to complete the design project, but completed it one week earlier and got the job offer almost immediately.
