This was an employee referral from someone I had worked with at another company, so much of the ground work was covered in casual conversations on the phone. I submitted a resume and formal application, then was contacted by at least 4 different people in phone interviews. These were mostly directors in the engineering and sales areas and all were about 30 minutes long. That was followed quickly by an in-person interview with the SE Manager, and within a few days I was asked to fly to Seattle (I was not living there at the time) for an in-person interview with the director of engineering. This turned into lunch with the CEO and VP of sales as well. They confirmed an offer there at the lunch table and I was officially employed. That kind of casual "just get it done" attitude won me over right away.
