Interview
The hiring process varies. If you apply outside of the holiday season, you do not receive a call back if you applied more than 3 weeks before a position became available. It’s just how things work.
If you do apply and receive an interview, you typically meet with the store manager or the assistant manager and have a sit-down interview in a public space within the mall. Interviews last around 30 minutes, although they do tend to run shorter if a lack of interest in the applicant is evident early on.
After an interview, you usually only get a call back if you have gotten the job, at which point you will have 2-3 references contacted. This is pretty much mandatory across the board, you must provide two references to even be hired for most locations and they will contact them. Also, you are subjected to a background check at most stores which also determines your eligibility for hire.

Interview
Keep in mind, THEY called ME to schedule an interview. The hiring manager who interviewed me acted like I was bothering her for coming in at my scheduled time. While we were interviewing it was like she couldn't even pretend to be interested at all. Like she was just going through the motions to get me out of there. Facial expressions were not pleasant either. I honestly should've walked out, but I wanted to be polite and professional. At the end she couldn't even be bothered to tell me whether or not they'd be in contact or when to expect them to accept or reject me. I was told that's it, have a good day, and I was walked out. I figured I wouldn't be hired just based on her nasty attitude, but I never even received at least a rejection afterwards. Figures that's what happens when visible posers work at alt stores.
