The hiring process varies. If you apply outside of the holiday season, you do not receive a call back if you applied more than 3 weeks before a position became available. It’s just how things work. If you do apply and receive an interview, you typically meet with the store manager or the assistant manager and have a sit-down interview in a public space within the mall. Interviews last around 30 minutes, although they do tend to run shorter if a lack of interest in the applicant is evident early on. After an interview, you usually only get a call back if you have gotten the job, at which point you will have 2-3 references contacted. This is pretty much mandatory across the board, you must provide two references to even be hired for most locations and they will contact them. Also, you are subjected to a background check at most stores which also determines your eligibility for hire.
