Sphero interview questions

There were a series of interviews i went through for this position 1) Phone Interview with the recruiter (1.5hrs) discussed back ground, salary requirements etc. She was great and asked very relative questions 2) Signed NDA 2) Phone Interview with hiring manager. He was very likable and we discussed my background and other things 3) Had a 3hr interview where I met with 6 different people. This is where things went down hill but i would like to note that everyone was very pleasant. The first two gentlemen brought laptops in with them, so i assume they were looking at things related to the interview but that was not the case. Neither had a copy of my resume, were prepared or look at my background to see what I currently do but i shrugged it off. The next two ladies (one was a stand in for another person) we also great one did have lots of great questions to ask. No problems here but again they were not familiar with my background or my past projects. Good thing I brought copies. The last group (after being there for 2hrs) who were the engineers, asked very vague on the spot questions. They ask in particular about a part my previous personal engineering project which but the way they asked it was very poor. I still have no clue what they really wanted to hear or were looking for. The second question was pretty straight forward, they asked me to go through how a part as molded. They themselves stumbled when i asked them basic questions about their own parts like where they gate locations were. The last questions was also not very clear about how their part works in particular, draw a free body diagram of how their part moves. First off if some ask you to do a FBD run. These are what other engineers call Academia guys. I followed up with the HR person and she literally said "they were going to pass because I did have the fundamentals". As an engineer that is probably the most offensive thing anyone could say. Not quite sure how you access if someone has the fundamentals after sitting for three hours and asking vague questions.
