I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. I had an initial interview with the recruiter and a second interview with the CXO and a designer the next day.
Both interviews started late. I get that it happens, but would have appreciated a note saying they were running late.
The interviews themselves were ok. I worked on a portfolio presentation but we didn't get to it because I asked so many questions about the company and the process. It was alarming for me that on the second page of the company's "culture" doc there was the headline "Complete darkness, constant danger" and a story about how an explorer recruited people for his Trans-Antartic exploration by promising things like "hazardous journey" "small wages" and "honor and recognition in event of success." Then the page asked how this might be applied to "your journey at Spiff." Sounds like toxic hustle culture and employee abuse to me...
My name was spelled wrong twice in electronic communications and I was sent a template rejection after the second interview with no feedback or reason for the rejection.
It's clear everyone at Spiff is overworked and unorganized. I felt my time was disrespected especially since they were the ones who reached out to me and asked me to interview.
