I really enjoyed my interview process with Splice, which isn't something I'd normally ever say about an interview process.
It started out with a quick chat with a recruiter, then an exploratory chat with an eng director, then a take-home assignment, a chat with the hiring manager, then a~4 hour interview panel day, then a few follow-up interviews with the CTO and and someone from the Product team.
I absolutely loved the take-home assignment - I thought the scope and parameters were reasonable (the expectation wasn't that you sink tons of hours in, unlike what one of the other folks assessing their interview said on here - they want to see what you prioritize given the time constraint), and the assignment itself was actually really fun. I really appreciated that they don't do whiteboarding or remote live coding sessions for technical assessments - they are a colossal waste of time for everyone involved, and are in no way revealing of your skill as an engineer. I did have to walk one of my interviewers through my take-home assignment though, and explain the design and some of the tradeoffs I ended up making along the way, and why.
Were there any pain points? My interview process took a pretty long time (more than 3 weeks), and I ended up having to interview with waaay more people at the company than I've ever had to in past interviews. Luckily, I liked everyone I met with, but it did still feel like it dragged on a bit. They got back to me with a decision really quickly though, once I was done with all the interview panels.
