4 Skype interviews followed by an in person interview that included facilitation of a team retrospective. The in-person interviews included an hour of role playing a few coaching situations. The scenarios selected for the role play were unrealistically negative based on my experience as a coach. The Spotify coach playing the person being coached was encouraged to portray an incredibly hostile employee. It created a very negative experience and made their employees seem unbalanced. The coaches attempted to create a "trick" scenario for the retrospective by not supplying any information about the team being coached even though I requested some background information multiple times before the retrospective. All of my interviews with the technical staff and leadership at Spotify were very positive. The retrospective was really enjoyable to be a part of. The interactions with the Agile coaches was very hostile and negative. Their approach seemed to be based on the idea that they can identify good coaches by presenting the most negative situations that someone could encounter. By doing so, they created a very negative impression for me of them and their approach to Agile coaching at the company.
